Managed IT & choosing your partner

What should I ask before choosing an IT provider?

Ask what is included and excluded, how support is reached, how security and backups are managed, who owns your accounts, and how onboarding and offboarding work. Request a written scope and compare coverage—not just the monthly price.

Can you work alongside our internal IT person?

Yes. With co-managed IT, your own person or team keeps the responsibilities you want them to own, while Cayenne adds capacity for overflow, absences, projects, tools, or specialist needs. We agree who handles support, security, projects, and vendor coordination, including any onsite staffing, so responsibilities are clear.

How do you keep pricing fair while tailoring coverage?

We build coverage around your needs, with packages and à-la-carte options. Your proposal explains recurring fees, inclusions, exclusions, and additional work. A lower base price should not hide important gaps; compare the total scope and cost.

How should I compare a lower-priced IT or hardware quote?

Start by checking whether you are being offered the same thing. One IT quote may cover maintenance only, while another includes user support, security, backups, and vendor coordination. Hardware can differ in model, specifications, age, condition, warranty, setup, and ongoing support. A lower price can be good value—but the price alone does not tell you that. We help you compare what is included, what costs extra, and what best fits your business. See our pricing and value guide.

Will someone answer when I need help?

Getting you to a person quickly is a priority. During regular support hours, we aim to answer calls in under a minute. Busy periods can take longer; we focus on clear communication and follow-through once you reach us. Call 718-704-0505 Monday–Thursday, 9am–5pm, and Friday, 9am–2pm, Eastern. After-hours emergency coverage depends on your service agreement.

What if my usual technician is unavailable?

You have a relationship with a team, not just one person. Shared documentation and coordination help another technician understand your environment and continue the work. Availability and escalation arrangements depend on your support scope.

Will you explain things in plain English?

Yes. We explain the issue, practical options, costs, and next steps clearly. You should understand what is happening without needing a technical background.

Who owns our accounts, documentation, and data?

Ownership, administrative access, documentation, and transition assistance should be clear before you sign. We define these responsibilities in the agreement; third-party subscriptions and Cayenne-owned tools may have separate licensing or access terms.

How do you handle onboarding, backups, and software vendors?

We review your environment, identify priorities, and agree on a transition plan. Backup coverage, retention, restore testing, recovery planning, and vendor coordination are scoped explicitly. We help coordinate issues within that scope but cannot guarantee a third-party vendor’s resolution.

Business phones & VoIP

Can you find a phone solution that fits my business?

Yes. Cayenne VoIP is our recommended business phone solution for many customers. We start with your size, call flows, locations, integrations, and special requirements. If Cayenne VoIP does not provide the right features or functionality, our relationships with major phone providers let us compare alternatives and help you find the right fit. Your business needs guide the recommendation.

Can I keep my business phone numbers?

Yes—in most cases, you can keep your existing business numbers. We confirm portability, help gather the required account information, and coordinate the transfer. Keep your current service active until the transfer is complete. An unpaid balance does not by itself allow your existing provider to refuse a valid port, though you remain responsible for charges owed. Timing depends on the type of transfer and accurate account details; we confirm the schedule before switching.

What does starting at $20 per user include?

Cayenne VoIP starts at $20 per user per month, with a two-user minimum ($40 per month base). Taxes and fees are additional. SMS, call recording, advanced call-center queues, and AI features are optional add-ons, where available, rather than part of the starting plan. Your proposal confirms the included features and any additional charges.

Do I need to provide my phone number or current phone bill?

No. Your name and email are enough to start; your phone number, bill, and other context are optional. A recent bill is very helpful: it can reveal services, numbers, and charges you may want to retain. Together with a discussion of how you use your phones, it helps us compare the right features and plan a smoother migration. A bill may not list every feature, so we confirm important requirements with you. You can upload a PDF, JPG, or PNG through the secure form.

POS, hardware & installation

Are you tied to one POS brand?

No. Our focus is finding the best fit for your business, not steering you toward one brand. We get to know your workflow, needs, and budget, then compare suitable options. Some of the brands we work with include Tabit POS, Foodhub, Aldelo, SuperMenu, and Clover. If we do not have the right solution for you, we will tell you and, where possible, point you toward a better fit.

Do I have to process payments through Cayenne?

No. Cayenne does not require our processing service as a condition of buying POS services. Coordinating both can simplify support, but your chosen platform may limit compatible processors. Processor-funded equipment offers can also carry separate commitments.

What makes Cayenne different from a POS-only reseller?

We are an IT company first. Alongside the POS, we understand computers, peripherals, networking, connectivity, and troubleshooting. We can coordinate the surrounding technology as one scoped project rather than treating the checkout terminal in isolation.

Can you handle hardware, networking, ordering, and installation?

We can scope hardware and software procurement, configuration, installation, networking, low-voltage wiring, phones, online ordering, kiosks, and kitchen displays. Compatibility, integrations, training, and ongoing support are confirmed for your selected setup.

Does 4G or 5G failover guarantee we never go down?

No. Backup connectivity provides another path where supported, but power, signal, carrier service, equipment, and POS or processor behavior still matter. We plan and test the intended failover behavior rather than promise uninterrupted operation.

Payment processing & rate reviews

How do you compare processing rates fairly?

We look beyond a headline rate to transaction mix, recurring fees, equipment costs, funding, integrations, and contract terms. We work with multiple partners to compare suitable options and advocate for competitive terms—not promise the lowest rate in every situation.

What information helps with a rate review?

Your three most recent processing statements give us a fuller picture of your rates, fees, and transaction mix, helping us make a more accurate comparison. If you do not have three, send whatever you have—we can start there. Approximate monthly volume, average transaction size, and the mix of in-person, keyed-in, and online payments are also helpful. These details are optional to begin a conversation.

Are estimated savings guaranteed?

No. A preliminary comparison is not a binding quote or savings guarantee. Actual pricing depends on the proposed terms, eligibility, card and transaction mix, fees, and underwriting. Any future calculator will need to disclose its assumptions and be reviewed by our team.

Is a no-upfront-cost POS really free?

No upfront cost does not mean no cost. Opening a location or switching POS systems can put pressure on your budget. For eligible businesses, we can explore processing-funded equipment or other arrangements that reduce the initial outlay and help preserve cash for the rest of the project. The equipment and services still have a cost, which may be recovered through processing revenue, ongoing fees, financing, or contract commitments. We explain how the offer is funded, what is included, and any ownership or early-exit obligations before you decide.

Can you help with integrations and deposit options?

Yes. Integration is a key part of our service: we help find suitable platforms and gateways for your POS, accounting software, and online payments, including supported QuickBooks workflows. We can also compare eligible same-day and instant funding programs, including seven-day and holiday options where supported. We confirm compatibility, funding conditions, fees, and bank requirements for the specific arrangement.

Support & other services

How do I submit a support request?

Calling is the quickest way to reach us, especially for an urgent issue: 718-704-0505. You can also submit a support ticket online or email support@cayennecorp.com. For an active emergency, call and follow your agreed escalation procedure.

Where can I find guides and remote support?

The Resources page provides public guidance, and /sos links to the official Splashtop SOS download. Start a remote session only when a verified Cayenne technician asks. For customer-specific instructions or account access, contact our support team.

Can I ask about technology that is not listed on your website?

Absolutely. Our website highlights common services, not everything we can help with. Whether your question feels basic or your project is complex, start with us. If we already support your business, involve us before choosing new technology so we can help review compatibility, security, integrations, and support. We draw on our team and specialist resources, and tell you when another expert is the better fit. Ask Cayenne.

Do you build websites and custom applications?

Yes. We can scope informational websites, landing pages, and custom business applications. Hosting, integrations, maintenance, and any AI functionality are agreed for the individual project.

How do you approach cybersecurity and compliance?

We plan layered protection around your risks and requirements, including user education and phishing simulations, identity, devices, email, networks, data protection, and recovery where scoped. No single tool covers every risk, and a service or product alone does not guarantee compliance.

Backup & business continuity

Why test backups if the job says it succeeded?

A successful job is useful evidence, but it does not show that every application and dependency can return to service. Verification and agreed restore testing help identify missing data, configuration issues, and recovery steps before an incident.

Is business continuity relevant to a small business?

Yes. Start with the systems your people and customers depend on and the interruption you can tolerate. The appropriate plan may protect selected files and cloud data, or include local and cloud server recovery. We match the scope to your needs and budget.

Is cloud storage the same as backup?

No. Cloud storage and synchronization keep information available across devices, but unwanted changes or ransomware-encrypted files can also synchronize. Native recovery tools have their own retention and restore limits. Separate backup options can add recovery choices for supported Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, QuickBooks deployments, Azure workloads, and cloud computers; coverage depends on the application and backup solution.

What is the difference between backup and disaster recovery?

Backup preserves recoverable copies of data. Disaster recovery plans how to restore systems and applications. Business continuity considers how people keep operating during disruption. We help match these layers to your priorities.

How quickly could we recover?

We agree recovery priorities and targets for your environment, then select and test suitable options within the service scope. Actual recovery depends on the incident, available backups, systems, and dependencies. Your proposal defines coverage and responsibilities.
